Obtaining a Digital Certificate in Spain

A digital certificate is a secure electronic document that allows you to identify yourself online and sign documents electronically. It is essential for accessing many online services in Spain, such as filing taxes, registering businesses, and renewing driving licenses.

Procedure for Obtaining a Digital Certificate in Spain

1. You have to use your own laptop or computer.

2. Go to following site and download configurator

3. Fill the following form, read and agree terms and conditions.

   1. https://www.sede.fnmt.gob.es/en/certificados/persona-fisica/obtener-certificado-software/solicitar-certificado​

4. It will ask the password to be used for Digital Certificate, you have to write it down somewhere or in memory!

5. An email will be received with a registration code.

6. Get an appointment from following site (Select whatever offie in Madrid to get an appointment early)

7. Go to the office where you got an appointment with your NIE and Passport, they will send confirm you to send Digital Certificate by and Email.

8. Download and install the digital certificate software. Once you have registered for a digital certificate, you will need to download and install the software from the CA's website. The software will allow you to manage your digital certificate and use it to access online services.
